With a dedicated email address and the ability to access POP and IMAP email accounts Bulletin Mail offers all your mobile email needs in a simple to use SINGLE device. No need for IT infrastructure or new hardware, Bulletin Mail offers SMS alerts on all handsets and conforms to XHTML standards for simple mobile browsing on your phone.

Bulletin Mail Overview

Messages can be forwarded directly to your Bulletin Mail email address or pulled from existing POP3 or IMAP servers over secure SSL connections.

All messages are checked for unwanted SPAM and processed through your personal filter rules before being pushed to your phone.

By combining forwarding, existing servers, and filter rules the user has full control over what messages go through Bulletin Mail. In addition to blocking SPAM, filter rules can be used to block unwanted, or uninteresting messages from being sent to the phone.

Message notifications are delivered as standard SMS messages and can be instantly replied to using Bulletin's patented mTAG reply path technology. For WAP users, Bulletin Mail can optionally include a URL inside the message providing quick andsecure access to the full message and any attachments (handset dependent).

In addition to push email, Bulletin Mail's External Server Processes (ESP) allows users to integrate with enterprise instant messaging networks supporting the IETF XMPP protocol and online calendars based on the WEBCAL standard.

Security

In today's security conscious environment it is important that communications are secured against intrusion whether it is willful or accidental.
Bulletin Mail offers the following as standard and additional layers of security may be implemented on a case by case basis if required (costs may apply).

Inbound Messages before Processing

For most corporate clients the main initial access point for Bulletin Mail is via the External Server Polling (ESP) process connecting to the corporate mail server over POP3 or IMAP. While the MS Exchange protocol is not natively supported, Exchange can be configured to provide IMAP access.
Security Options Available at this level includes ESP over SSL that provides industry standard encryption of user details and message content. You can also configure your corporate firewall to only allow IMAP or POP access from the Bulletin Mail server IP (219.88.240.64/27).

Hosting

Bulletin Mail is hosted in a physically secure co-lo with highly restricted access procedures for data access. All unflagged message details, attachments etc are deleted from the servers on a regular basis with users having the option to retain certain messages if necessary.

Message Delivery

Bulletin Mail connects to carriers and its selected aggregators over VPN connections using secure protocols.
It should be noted that transmission of the SMS message from the Carrier to the handset is over the SMPP protocol which is not secured and is out of the control of Bulletin or its' agents.

Web and WAP Browsing

Users have the option of receiving SMS alerts with HTTPS encoded URLs for encrypted WAP browsing (handset dependant) and may also browse the Bulletin Mail website using HTTPS for additional security.
Depending on the users handset they can set 'password expiry' periods to balance security against the need to enter a password to view each message.
Web users are required to enter their user ID and password to access their account details and messages.

Bulletin Wireless is the premium Global messaging service, the choice of Corporate organizations around the world.
